The Story

CTO Lighting crafts each piece of glass with meticulous care, ensuring that every droplet is hand-formed by skilled artisans. The process creates delicate undulations and crystal-like textures, while the translucent glass is elegantly framed by symmetrical metalwork, casting a warm, soft glow.

A contemporary interpretation of a classic design, the NIMBUS Chandelier serves as a striking centrepiece that captivates all who view it. Each fritted glass disc is uniquely handmade and finished, offering a sculptural presence when unlit and a mesmerizing diffused light when illuminated. With its long, linear profile, the NIMBUS CASCADE is ideal for grand stairwells or impressive entranceways.

Under the guidance of founders Chris and Clare, the studio embraced hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-crafted stone, establishing a distinctive approach to materiality and detail. This considered refinement led to CTO Lighting being recognised as a British luxury lighting brand, with manufacturing rooted in the UK.CTO Lighting has collaborated with leading industry figures including David Collins Studio, Philippe Starck and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, contributing to prestigious interiors worldwide. The studio has also been commissioned to create bespoke lighting for landmark destinations such as The Savoy, The Dorchester London, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

Working with respected, award-winning designers including Autoban, Michael Verheyden and Stephane Parmentier, CTO Lighting continues to bring depth and character to its collections. In 2016, the brand opened its first exclusive London showroom, offering a dedicated space to present its work. Today, the collection is distributed globally through leading design-led retailers and specified by international interior designers and architects.

• Care: CTO Lighting recommends that the Nimbus Cascade is gently maintained to preserve its handcrafted glass and premium finish. Dust the fixture regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could affect the delicate hand-formed glass. For more thorough cleaning, a lightly damp, lint-free cloth should be used, followed by immediate drying to retain the original lustre. Always ensure the light is switched off and cool before any care is undertaken to protect both the finish and the installer’s safety.
