Created by Kimberley Harris, The Colours of Stillness invites quiet contemplation through carefully considered abstraction. The work balances restraint and emotional presence with soft tonal shifts and delicate mark-making, offering a serene visual experience. Harris’s refined layering and surface treatment add depth while maintaining clarity, allowing stillness to remain central. The composition’s subtle tension between openness and control encourages the viewer to linger, reflecting on nuance rather than rushing to interpretation. Thoughtfully composed, this piece enhances both contemporary and traditional interiors, bringing a reflective, calming atmosphere to living rooms, studies, or curated gallery walls.

Artwork by Kimberley Harris
One of Kimberley Harris’s earliest memories is of being taken by her father—an avid admirer of Impressionist art—to a JMW Turner exhibition at the Tate Gallery. That formative experience sparked her determination to paint, leading to a Diploma in Art and Design in 2005.
Her practice was renewed in 2014 after meeting a respected artist who introduced her to oil painting and the palette knife. Through this process, Kimberley Harris established a distinctive visual language of her own, inspired by the natural beauty of the countryside that surrounds and informs her work.
