The Story

TRACE LINEAR by CTO Lighting reframes the chandelier as a sculptural expression of line, light and material. Suspended horizontally, the design combines gently curved metal strands with veiled glass shades that softly diffuse illumination, creating a calm and atmospheric presence. Available in configurations of 2, 3, 5 or 7 strands, it offers flexibility for settings ranging from intimate dining spaces to generous kitchen islands or reception areas.

The TRACE collection is defined by its celebration of connection and scale, allowing for a wide range of considered configurations. Drawing inspiration from the natural world and the sculptural language of Andy Goldsworthy, each element is carefully linked to form a light, ethereal composition. The refined interplay of metal and glass results in a statement installation with a distinctly artistic character. This adaptability enables interior designers to tailor each piece to their project, selecting the appropriate scale, finish and arrangement to suit their vision.

Recognising a growing demand for refined, contemporary lighting, CTO Lighting turned its focus towards the use of more luxurious materials. Under the guidance of founders Chris and Clare, the studio embraced hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-crafted stone, establishing a distinctive approach to materiality and detail. This considered refinement led to CTO Lighting being recognised as a British luxury lighting brand, with manufacturing rooted in the UK.CTO Lighting has collaborated with leading industry figures including David Collins Studio, Philippe Starck and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, contributing to prestigious interiors worldwide. The studio has also been commissioned to create bespoke lighting for landmark destinations such as The Savoy, The Dorchester London, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

Working with respected, award-winning designers including Autoban, Michaël Verheyden and Stéphane Parmentier, CTO Lighting continues to bring depth and character to its collections. In 2016, the brand opened its first exclusive London showroom, offering a dedicated space to present its work.
