The Story

CTO Lighting introduces the Avalon Chandelier, inspired by the legendary island whose stories of light and shadow have captivated imaginations for centuries. Cascades of light radiate from a precious ring of alabaster, set within refined brass or bronze, creating an exquisite and ethereal illumination.

Balancing contemporary design with timeless craftsmanship, the honed alabaster cylinders diffuse a soft, ambient glow, while the chandelier’s suspension by minimal stainless-steel cables gives the impression of floating gracefully within any interior. Available in medium, large, and extra-large sizes, Avalon’s circular form serves as a striking centrepiece for dining tables, living rooms, bedrooms, or unconventional spaces such as bars and kitchen islands.

Under the guidance of founders Chris and Clare, the studio embraced hand-finished brass, mouth-blown glass and artisan-crafted stone, establishing a distinctive approach to materiality and detail. This considered refinement led to CTO Lighting being recognised as a British luxury lighting brand, with manufacturing rooted in the UK.CTO Lighting has collaborated with leading industry figures including David Collins Studio, Philippe Starck and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, contributing to prestigious interiors worldwide. The studio has also been commissioned to create bespoke lighting for landmark destinations such as The Savoy, The Dorchester London, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

Working with respected, award-winning designers including Autoban, Michael Verheyden and Stephane Parmentier, CTO Lighting continues to bring depth and character to its collections. In 2016, the brand opened its first exclusive London showroom, offering a dedicated space to present its work. Today, the collection is distributed globally through leading design-led retailers and specified by international interior designers and architects.

• Care: CTO Lighting recommends routine, gentle care to preserve the exquisite finish of the Avalon Chandelier. Regularly dust the alabaster and metal with a soft, dry cloth to maintain its soft, ambient glow — avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the stone or metalwork. If marks persist, lightly use a barely damp cloth then immediately dry to protect the natural materials.
