Crafted entirely from solid 925 sterling silver, the Floral design is a delicate interpretation of YARD-O-LED’s celebrated 19th-century hand-chasing technique. Both the pen and pencil present a fresh and contemporary expression of the brand’s revered craftsmanship. Inspired by the beauty of English roses, intricate blooms, buds, and leaves elegantly flow around the silver barrels in a pattern reminiscent of a traditional English country dance.

The Mayflower rose, long treasured in English country gardens, carries deep historical significance. It once flourished in the garden of James Watt’s country house, around which Birmingham’s famed Jewellery Quarter was established in 1780 — the very district where the YARD-O-LED workshop now proudly resides. James Watt, inventor of the steam engine and regarded as the father of the Industrial Revolution, remains an enduring symbol of British innovation and craftsmanship, qualities reflected in every YARD-O-LED writing instrument.

The name “Mayflower” also references the legendary British ship that carried the first pilgrims across the Atlantic, symbolising YARD-O-LED’s own international journey. Today, the brand’s handcrafted creations are admired across more than twenty territories worldwide.

Unique within the YARD-O-LED collection, the sterling silver Mayflower pencil is designed without a clip, creating a lighter and more delicate feel that perfectly complements its elegant pattern. A single rosebud rests along a trail of finely hand-chased leaves, while each pencil is individually numbered on the cap. The matching ballpoint pen features YARD-O-LED’s traditional numbered clip, adding a distinguished presence to the wreath of entwined rosebuds and foliage surrounding the barrel.
