Crafted in Rosewood and Boxwood, each piece is shaped, balanced, and finished by hand, preserving the proportions that have defined competitive chess since the pattern was first introduced by Howard Staunton and developed with Nathaniel Cooke in 1849. From the refined simplicity of our Club sets to the ornate carving of our Championship pieces offered in three king sizes every set reflects a commitment to heritage, precision, and quiet authority. All chessmen are triple-weighted with flared bases for stability and may be finished in green baize, black felt, natural suede, or leather, with two Queens per colour provided as standard for seamless promotion during play.

Alternative materials, including resin or sterling silver, may be explored upon request, while boards can be designed in a wide range of gaming leathers through our complimentary customisation service.
