Originally conceived in the 1960s and later interpreted in precious metals including a sterling silver edition produced to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977 the design has evolved while remaining faithful to its leather inlaid heritage.
The King stands at 57.33 mm (2.25″) on a 45 mm (1.77″) chequer, with crowned embossing on the King, Rook and Knight, accompanied by a pair of extra Queens for practical play. Each set is hand inlaid throughout in Dauphin calf leather and presented on Geoffrey Parker’s signature scalloped-sided chessboard plinth, balancing visual impact with assured handling.
