Created by Novocastrian, this brass and glass table lamp draws inspiration from the industrial elegance of Britain’s railways during the golden age of travel. Part of the Insulator Lighting Collection, the design references the glass insulators once suspended above railway lines, celebrating the ingenuity of early 20th-century engineering. The ribbed glass detailing is both decorative and functional, originally intended to prevent electrical discharge from overhead wiring while lending the piece a refined Art Deco character.
Each lamp body is precision-machined from solid brass or steel, with the glass carefully pressed, hand-finished, and assembled in Novocastrian’s UK workshop.
In keeping with much of Novocastrian’s work, the metal finishes are left un-lacquered, allowing them to develop a rich and natural patina over time.
The lamp can be wired to order for either 120V or 240V systems. It is mains dimmable and may require a suitable driver when paired with a lighting control system.
The Insulator Table Lamp requires a GU10 bulb, which is not supplied. Novocastrian recommends bulbs by Signify or Tala. UL and IP-rated options will be available soon; please contact Novocastrian for further information.
