The Story

Inspired by the organic character of glass, the PETRA Pendant Light by CTO Lighting showcases a soft meteoric core encased within a second outer layer of thick, pebble-like glass in a subtle neutral tint. The layered composition gently diffuses and refracts the light, producing a warm and captivating glow with depth and presence.

CTO Lighting offers PETRA with a choice of matt opal or hand-shaped smoked inner shade, suspended from either a satin brass or bronze drop rod. This considered pairing of materials highlights both the delicacy and inherent strength found in the natural world.

Whether displayed as a singular statement or arranged in multiples above kitchen islands or dining tables, PETRA creates a rhythmic composition reminiscent of pebbles scattered along a shoreline, bringing sculptural elegance and atmospheric light to interior spaces.

The studio has also been commissioned to create bespoke lighting for landmark destinations such as The Savoy, The Dorchester London, St Pancras Renaissance Hotel and Chiltern Firehouse.

• Care: CTO Lighting recommends gentle care to preserve the finish and clarity of the PETRA Pendant Light’s beautiful glass and metalwork. Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could dull the glass or metal surfaces. For deeper cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and mild detergent can be used sparingly, ensuring the light is switched off and cool before doing so. With thoughtful, regular care, the PETRA Pendant Light will continue to illuminate interiors with its soft, layered glow and refined presence.
