Maker

Nigel Cooke was born in Mirfield, Yorkshire, and has art woven into his life from an early age. After leaving school, he joined the Merchant Navy before exploring a variety of creative roles on his path to becoming a full-time artist.

He worked as the resident caricaturist and entertainer at Butlins and later opened caricature concessions at Blackpool’s Central Pier and Pleasure Beach, the Trafford Centre Mall in Manchester, and Alton Towers. Nigel also contributed as a character designer for Hong Kong-based C.I.M International and remains an active member of the National Caricature Network in the USA.
