William Yeoward
Modern British Design. Faultless in Every Detail.
Since 1983, the William Yeoward brand has occupied a singular position in the world of interior design — quietly authoritative, globally respected, and unmistakably British. Built on a philosophy of striving for excellence not merely in design and production, but above all in service, William Yeoward became one of London's leading creative forces and a byword for sophisticated, elegant living.
The brand's reach spans furniture, upholstery, crystal, lighting, fabrics, wall coverings, rugs and home accessories — each piece made to the highest and most exacting standards, each one bearing the sense of purpose and personality that defined William Yeoward's vision from the very beginning.
A Creative Life, Fully Lived
William Yeoward opened his first store on the King's Road, Chelsea in 1985 — a space that showcased antiques, objets and pieces he had designed and commissioned for his interior design projects. From the outset, his approach was clear: "I realised very early on in my creative life that if I could not find what I wanted, the best thing to do was to find someone to make it."
That philosophy drove everything. Bespoke upholstered furniture, lighting, dinner services and crystal followed — each category entered with the same meticulous attention to detail, the same refusal to compromise. By 2003, a new 3,000 sq ft showroom on the King's Road became home to the entire Yeoward world, a space that embodied his belief that buying well should "bring long-term pleasure, not instant gratification and then years of disappointment."
William Yeoward Crystal: A Royal Warrant & a Global Following
Of all the things William Yeoward created, crystal gave him the greatest joy. Inspired by his love of 18th and 19th century glassware, he partnered with third-generation crystal designer and maker Timothy Jenkins to bring that vision to life. William Yeoward Crystal was first shown in London in 1996, immediately winning Best New Product from British House & Garden magazine. American Elle Décor declared it "the zenith in crystal making."
The collection went on to earn a Royal Warrant of Appointment as Supplier of Crystal Glass to HRH The Prince of Wales in January 2008, and today has a showroom on Madison Avenue, New York — testament to a global clientele that includes leading interior designers, decorators and architects worldwide.
Fabrics, Rugs & Furniture: A Complete World
Fabric and wallpaper collections were added in 1998, distributed globally by Designers Guild. Rugs and cushions followed in 2012. In 2014, Collected Furniture — an exceptional range of handmade pieces — extended the brand's reach further still. Each addition was made with the same conviction: that great design must be practical, elegant and above all comfortable.
"It's very important to work out what you are about and how you want to live before one even contemplates a house or the things that one needs to live in it comfortably," William said. "Comfort is the key to contentment."
His Legacy, Continued
William Yeoward passed away on 18th June 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. He left behind not only a body of work of rare beauty, but a team entrusted with his legacy — dedicated to honouring his memory by continuing the work he loved so much. The brand endures, as he intended: purposeful, personal and uncompromising.
At EB London, we are proud to carry the William Yeoward collection — a world of modern British design, available to those who understand that the finest things in a home are never accidental.
